Welcome to Jehjeh Media!
We understand that the Language comes from the Land and so do our sounds and stories.
We create and produce media that prioritizes a relationship to the land and the language of First Peoples.
Join us on the journey of understanding and reconciliation, we call it reconcilli-Action.
An intergenerational and international language immersion home where ʔayʔajuθəm is living, people feel safe and participate in healing and building community through collective learning and sharing.
1. ʔƏMS TAʔOW We recognize that all we have is from the land around us and the teachings that have sustained our people. We commit to learning and teaching about ʔayʔajuθəm culture and language. The commitment to land includes the water, air, animals, plants, language and culture all of which are a direct result of this environment. We strive to share these teachings in new platforms.
Our work engages community in courageous inter-generational conversations with empathy and a commitment to stay engaged with each other. In this way we can uncover new ways forward, together.
3. SAFE & HEALTHY WORK SPACES
We conscientiously create work environments where people feel safe, valued and respected. We provide opportunities for people identifying with BIPOC,+LGBTQ2S, and (dis)Abilities) communities. We strive for a sustainable lifestyle, emulating natural life cycles.
4. DIRECT ACTION
We do not ‘hope’ for a better future; through direct action, we work diligently to achieve it. We acknowledge our shared past and remember that resilience and resistance has brought us here. We commit to using the language, and to inspiring others to learn and become part of the legacy.
MANDATE & MISSION
In order to build relationships within ʔayʔajuθəm speaking people, we create and produce media based on an understanding of our shared history and responsibility for the territory we live in. A BIPOC led multi-media production company that uses storytelling to promote the language and culture from the sister nations of ʔayʔajuθəm qaymiexw. Reconnecting our sister nations through airwaves, language and in person events Creating media to share and reconnect with our greater community Creating safe circles that incite courageous conversations to move people forward on their continuum of learning about themselves and others Inspiring our community toward a deeper understanding of our collective history
