Koosen Pielle / co-founder

Koosen Pielle is a mother, wife, sister, niece, and grand daugther of Tla’amin First Nation. Koosen has been part of the language team in Tla’amin for over 10 years, and has described being part of the language team as “picking up where her grandmother left off”. Koosen utilizes radio, film, print, and social media to share the language with her people. She is most proud of qayχ hɛga walθ, an audio play available on our website.

She’s shared that audio is her first love, as it brings us back to oral teachings.

Jacqueline Mathieu / co-founder

Jacqueline Mathieu is a member of the Klahoose First Nation, has worked in her community’s language team for 10+ years. Language documentation, preservation & revitalization keeps her grounded in who she is as an Indigenous French-Canadian woman.
